Assessments

Students at Dynamics International School (DIS) are assessed qualitatively. The student reports will contain a description provided by the school, on the personal qualities of the student. The assessment will capture the student’s strengths as an individual, as well as the areas where he/she has displayed growing maturity or development. Students who complete schooling with DIS until the age of 18 may receive a Certificate of Graduation.

Every student at DIS will receive an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that outlines what Educational Objectives will be prioritised for that student for each academic year. Goals in the ILP will consist of the IPC Learning Goals for the respective milepost along with the objectives set by the team working with the student.

Student assessments are made up of the following tools.

  • Educational Objective Checklists
  • Video footage
  • Photographs
  • Student Work Product
  • Electronic portfolios (photographic evidence of student work backed up in school file for each student)
  • Bi-annual student reports (Term 2 & Term 4)
Assessment and Reporting Cycle at DIS:

ILP Report cycle for each year is as follows-

Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) will take place in the first few weeks of Term 1- The priority is to establish and clarify the student’s goals. ILP is written and sent home. Mid-year student reports written and sent home at the end of term. PTC held in the first few weeks of Term 3- The priority is to review progress, consult parents on the report and clarify the student’s goals. ILP is written and sent home. End of year student reports written and sent home at the end of term.
